SAFE Center Grand Opening

BALTIMORE, MD. (May 18, 2015) – Safe Alternative Foundation for Education (S.A.F.E) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of the SAFE Center, which will allow S.A.F.E to further its mission by providing afterschool, weekend, and summer learning opportunities.

The SAFE Center, a youth facility dedicated to out of school time (OST) is set to open August 15, 2015. Located in the Franklin Square community of West Baltimore City, the SAFE Center will be offering programs not presently available in the area along with being a haven where the youth can learn essential life skills and obtain positive and new experiences during the times that they’re most vulnerable.

The center will focus on three key areas; physical fitness, literacy, and S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) with the goal of making the center, its resources and programs an integral part of the community and ensure its continued growth.

Additionally, the SAFE Center will be the headquarters in Franklin Square for S.A.F.E’s “Their Voices Matter” open dialogue with middle school aged youth. “Their Voices Matter” gives these youth a platform for their voices to be heard, which will allow S.A.F.E and its collaborating partners to work directly with the youth to address the needs and concerns that are vital to their success.

Despite S.A.F.E’s efforts, your support is also an essential part in ensuring the youth’s success. Please take the time to advocate on behalf of S.A.F.E, donate, and/or volunteer. If you’re unable to take any of these actions at this time you can still support S.A.F.E by voting to help us receive $25k from State Farm by clicking this link State Farm . Initiated by Loyola Blakefield’s Mothers Club, S.A.F.E is one of the 200 finalists, however only the top 40 vote receivers will be awarded the grant. You can vote 10 times a day with one click until June 3rd. Your vote matters!

For sponsorship and volunteering opportunities with the SAFE Center please contact S.A.F.E.
